Police Race Action Plan

In 2024, Suffolk Constabulary established an Independent Advisory & Scrutiny Panel to support the delivery of the National Police Race Action Plan (PRAP). The Constabulary and the Police and Crime Commissioner recognise that evidence shows that black communities, feel “over-policed and under protected”, and therefore independent scrutiny and oversight of progress with the PRAP is integral to the legitimacy of the work. The panel has brought together passionate people from across local communities who positively contribute to the commitment to build a more inclusive organisation, and to shine a light on the areas where it needs to improve.

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Suffolk has made a commitment in the Police and Crime Plan to support the work of the Suffolk Race Action Advisory and Scrutiny Panel to improve trust and confidence, sharing the costs of the panel with the Constabulary.
