24 March 2020 CORONAVIRUS: Statement from Suffolk’s PCC Following the Prime Minister’s instructions for most of us to stay at home and avoid any social contact outside your household. I really would like to remind everyone it is imperative we do as we are told. There is no other way – this is about saving lives and reducing the pressure on the NHS. If you need extra advice please refer to the government website – www.gov.uk, please do not make unnecessary calls to the police control room. This could seriously affect the emergency response countywide and must be avoided. Please follow the Government guidance and keep safe. By working together I really believe this virus will be defeated and in time life will start to return to a degree of normality – it will be difficult and worrying but I have every confidence all of us in Suffolk will meet this challenge head on and be successful.
