20 December 2013 Chief Constable reports on progress on serious sexual offences The Chief Constable presented an ‘exception’ Report (PDF, 176KB) on performance at today’s Accountability and Performance Plan (December 20) in relation to Serious Sexual Offences (SSO). given earlier concerns over the level of detections. The report shows the progress made by the Constabulary in improving the solved rate for Serious Sexual Offences and provides an update on the College of Policing Peer Review conducted in October 2013. A summary document (PDF, 100KB) has been produced that includes their key recommendations. Those recommendations have since been rolled into the Constabulary’s Action Plan developed to address this challenging area of business. The solved rate over the twelve months to October 2013 was 22.6%, although this is anticipated to further improve as the performance between April and October was 28.5%.
