PCC encourages participation in the Victim Commissioner’s survey

Baroness Newlove of Warrington, the Victims’ Commissioner is undertaking a review of Victim Personal Statements (VPS) and is inviting victims to complete a survey about their experiences or views relating to Victim Personal Statements (VPS).

This will be the second review into how criminal justice agencies comply with the Victims’ Code, the first being into how victims’ complaints were handled (published in January 2015).

The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete and all responses will be treated in the strictest of confidence.  The survey can be found at http://victimscommissioner.org.uk/review/current-review/

The findings of the review will be published in the autumn and is likely to make recommendations for ministers, governments and heads of the criminal justice agencies.  The review will be an effective lever to secure positive change for victims and could inform what goes into the Victims’ Law.

As a key commissioner of services to support victims of crime, the PCC encourages organisations and victims to participate in the questionnaire.
