28 July 2015 PCC updates Beccles Women’s Register on future plans On Tuesday July 7th Tim Passmore addressed the National Women’s Register (NWR) at The Friends’ Meeeting House in Beccles. The group promotes friendship, self- confidence and greater awareness of other people ‘s points of view through a combination of speakers, discussions and social events. Beccles is the largest branch in the country. Tim said, “I was so pleased to have the opportunity to address the Beccles branch of the NWR. I explained my role as Suffolk’s Police and Crime Commissioner and how we can all work together throughout Suffolk to make our county safer and a more attractive place to live and work in. “There was a lively discussion afterwards with many questions about police reform, the role of the voluntary sector and how to look after our young people in particular – it was a pity we ran out of time so I was unable to answer all the questions! “I’d like to thank the NWR for being so welcoming and for their hospitality. It was extremely generous of the NWR to make a donation to The Friends of The Ferns following my address – it was greatly appreciated” The Friends of The Ferns is a charity that supports victims of sexual assaults with items such as replacement bedding and clothing, assistance with travel costs and most importantly access to counselling services.
