Temporary Chief Constable Gareth Wilson and Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Tim Passmore will be going ‘on tour’ this year, visiting town centres across the county. Members of the local Safer Neighbourhood Team will also be there to answer local queries, as well as Crime Reduction Officers who will be offering personal safety and crime reduction advice. Local officers will be available at each venue from10:30am until 2:30pm, with the Chief and PCC present between 11am and 2pm*. All are welcome to come along and speak with the team about any policing or community issue. The events are part of a wider series of public consultation events being held to gather public opinion on the changes being made to policing in Suffolk to deliver savings required by Government.
The mobile police base will be open at each location from 10:30am-2:30pm. The Chief and PCC will be present from 11am-2pm*. They will be visiting the following locations: Thursday 23rd July – Stowmarket – the Meadow Centre, near Costa Coffee Friday 24th July – Haverhill – Market Square Monday 27th July – Ipswich – the Corn Hill Wednesday 29th July – Felixstowe – the Triangle Thursday 30th July – Sudbury – Market Hill Friday 31st July – Lowestoft – London Road North near Sports Direct Thursday 6th August – Bury St Edmunds – the Arc Shopping Centre Friday 14th August – Brandon – Market Square * Please note that in Ipswich and Lowestoft the police base will be open from 11am-3pm and the Chief and PCC will be present between 11:30am and 2:30pm.
